End Food Waste Australia (EFWA) proudly introduces Ms Juanita Hamparsum and Mr Andrew Henderson as the dynamic additions to our board, succeeding outgoing board members Ms Robbie Davis and Mr Alain Pillay.
Ms Hamparsum’s 17-year journey in agribusiness, spanning strategy, governance, and cutting-edge technologies, and Mr Henderson’s influential role in national policy and agricultural reform, mark a strategic leap for EFWA in its mission to halve food waste in Australia by 2030.
Ms Hamparsum’s international experience, including roles with Ernst & Young and Goldman Sachs, paired with her leadership at Namoi Cotton Limited, brings a unique perspective. Meanwhile, Mr Henderson’s transformative work in red meat and livestock integrity system reform reflects his commitment to driving innovation in Australia’s agricultural landscape.
Selected through a rigorous merit-based process, both nominees stood out among an impressive pool of candidates, including current and past serving parliamentarians and leaders of industry from agriculture, biodiversity, food security and research.
EFWA expresses heartfelt gratitude for the invaluable contributions of Ms Robbie Davis and Mr Alain Pillay, who have dedicated their time and expertise in serving these roles. Their commitment has been instrumental in shaping the success and impact of EFWA.
The upcoming participation of Ms. Hamparsum and Mr. Henderson in their inaugural board meeting at the end of this month marks a pivotal moment for EFWA. Their presence positions the organisation to take substantial steps in enhancing the productivity, sustainability, and resilience of the Australian food system. This strategic direction aligns seamlessly with the United Nations’ global call to action, with a specific focus on Sustainable Development Goal 12.3, which strives to reduce global per capita food waste by half by the year 2030.
END.
