End Food Waste Australia Charts Progress Toward Halving Food Waste by 2030
End Food Waste Australia (EFWA) has released its 2023-24 Annual Report, marking a transformative year in Australia’s journey to halve food waste by 2030. The report showcases significant achievements across research, industry engagement, and policy development, demonstrating the power of collaborative action in addressing one of our nation’s most pressing challenges.
“This year represents a pivotal moment in our organisation’s evolution,” says EFWA CEO Dr Steven Lapidge. “The transition to End Food Waste Australia reflects our maturity as the nation’s leading food waste reduction organisation and our readiness to drive the unprecedented action needed to achieve Australia’s 2030 target.”

This comprehensive roadmap outlines the $135 million investment needed to deliver an additional reduction of 2.5 million tonnes of food waste through collaborative action across research, industry initiatives, and behaviour change programs.
